Project 1a
We were to investigate and analyze the site through observation, research, surveys, and interviews to understand its existing conditions, context, users, and opportunities. The study includes:

Conducting a comprehensive site and townscape appraisal.

Applying relevant theories and readings on public life, urban environments, and human-centred design.
-
Studying relevant precedents to inform the project and programme.
-
Defining suitable programmes and analyzing their potential impact on the site.
Project 1b
Building on the 3Ps: People, Place, and Project, students individually develop the group proposal from Project 1A through an iterative and exploratory design process.
The process focuses on:

Exploring functionality, spatial quality, effectiveness, and form through multiple design schemes.

Testing ideas through sketches, diagrams, study models, 2D drawings, and 3D representations.

Referencing relevant readings, precedents, and case studies to inform programme, design strategies, structure, and materials.

Refining and optimizing the final design based on critical analysis and reflection.
Project IC
Building on the Project 1B scheme, students further develop their design by integrating regulatory requirements, fire safety, structure, materials, sustainability, environmental strategies, and feasibility.
The development focuses on:

Strengthening environmental and sustainable design strategies.

Exploring materiality, light, texture, and tectonic qualities.

Developing a selected building portion in greater technical and architectural detail.

Integrating structural, technological, and fire safety considerations.

Presenting a comprehensive and visually clear design through drawings, models, and architectural visualization.

As I reach the end of my architecture school journey, I have learned that architecture is much more than designing buildings. It has taught me to think critically, solve problems, communicate ideas, and constantly adapt. Through the challenges, late nights, critiques, and countless iterations, I have grown not only as a designer but also as a person. Most importantly, I learned to trust the process, embrace mistakes, and remain curious. As I move forward, I carry with me the knowledge, experiences, and lessons from these years into the next chapter of my architectural journey.
