Project IA
In tutorial groups, students will conduct site visits to understand both the physical and intangible qualities of the site. Engaging with users will help identify community needs. Based on this, each group will develop a collective design response that forms the foundation for Project 1B and 1C.

Project IB
Project 1B explores how materiality supports use, structure, and communal experience. Students will design a small structure that highlights form and materials, tailored to specific community activities. This project focuses on understanding how materials convey meaning and support spatial experiences, laying the groundwork for program development in Project 1C.

Project IC
Students will design a creative and recreational hub within a suburban neighborhood, integrating insights from site analysis and precedent studies. The project emphasizes environmental and community-driven narratives, exploring building enclosures that reduce environmental impact through passive strategies and thoughtful spatial organization. The design should harmonize with the site and offer meaningful, community-centered spatial experiences.

Completing Projects 1A, 1B, and 1C has been a meaningful journey of growth, both in understanding architecture’s relationship with the environment and in designing for real community needs. Through site analysis, material exploration, and final design development, I’ve learned to see architecture not just as a structure, but as an experience shaped by context, culture, and nature.
I would like to sincerely thank Ms. Alina for her continuous support, guidance, and valuable feedback throughout this process. Her encouragement pushed me to think deeper and design more responsibly, and I’m truly grateful for everything I’ve learned under her mentorship.
