Self reflection
Completing this module has been a journey of exploration into the intricate relationship between architecture and the environment. Through a comprehensive study of environmental conditions and issues, I have gained a deeper understanding of how human intervention can both positively and negatively impact our surroundings. The emphasis on passive design and integrating nature into architectural concepts has enlightened me on the significance of energy efficiency in buildings.
Engaging with real-life scenarios and case-based learning has allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations, fostering a deeper appreciation for the relevance of environmental considerations in architectural design. The combination of face-to-face lectures, tutorials, and asynchronous learning provided a well-rounded learning experience, supplemented by regular feedback sessions to ensure alignment with module learning outcomes.
Through assignments, I've been able to demonstrate my comprehension of environmental design principles and their application in local context. Furthermore, exploring sustainability rating tools and understanding building regulations has equipped me with valuable insights into navigating environmental considerations within the framework of local authorities.
Overall, this module has not only expanded my knowledge but also empowered me to critically evaluate environmental factors and incorporate them into building design strategies effectively. It has laid a solid foundation for me to contribute meaningfully to creating environmentally conscious and comfortable architectural spaces in the future.
